Greeting to all Peace Family descendants,

I would like to thank all of you who have contributed funds in the past to help us maintain the Peace Memorial Garden family cemetery. If you have visited the cemetery recently, you can see that your contributions have been used to keep our cemetery beautiful. Work done over that past several years include regular landscaping, tree trimming and removal, rebuilding of entrance sign, and repairs to older grave markers.

There have been some changes to how the cemetery’s administration over the past years also. Before Uncle Buck (William M. Peace) was called to glory his son Alpha began administering the cemetery. After many years of hard work, Al taught his son, Preston, and me how to care for the property. I am now in charge of the upkeep while Preston (who lives 3 hours away in Charlotte) visits periodically and inspects the upkeep.

How we maintain our finances has also incurred some changes. You may know that there is a property on the land that collects rents. In the past, cousin Al would donate the majority of these rents to us to help with cemetery upkeep. Now that Al is in his Heavenly home, we cannot count on receiving those funds. The property is now in his widow’s name. Please keep her in your prayers (as well as all our relatives). Currently we rely on the many contributions from family members to help pay for the cemetery’s upkeep and maintenance needs. We need these annual contributions to continue. It is my hope that each household of J.T. Peace descendants will continue to give. Our request is $100 per household per year, but any contribution is appreciated.

If you are inclined to give, please send the funds to me. I have an account at Bank of America that I use just for the family cemetery business. My wife is aware of this account. In the event that I cannot take care of the property, she knows to turn over the funds in this account to whomever will be next to take care of this property. Checks can be made out to Steven Campbell and mailed to Peace Memorial Garden, P.O. Box 848, Oxford, NC 27565. If you would prefer to send funds via Cashapp my ID is $spcamp.

Finally, I would like to have a very important meeting with all family members who are interested in the future plans of the cemetery. I am hoping to schedule a meeting sometime this summer. Please email me if you would like me to send you information about this meeting (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my cell (919)672-3789.

God Bless you all.

Steven P. Campbell
